Sometimes the most meaningful journeys don’t require leaving your seat.
Eamonn Bonner is a Donegal-based photographer and poet who has found a way to bring the wild beauty of the county to people who might not be able to explore it themselves. Through his virtual tours, he combines stunning photography with original poetry to create an experience that’s part travelogue, part storytelling, and entirely memorable.
Eamonn delivers PowerPoint presentations to groups, showing photographs of Donegal’s landscapes on screen. You’ll see the famous landmarks, of course, but also the quieter corners that only locals truly know. Each image is paired with a poem Eamonn has written about the place, along with historic facts and stories that bring each location to life.
These presentations are designed especially for groups who may not be able to travel around the beautiful countryside of County Donegal. Whether it’s a care home, a community group, or a day centre, Eamonn brings Donegal to them.
In November, residents at St Shanaghan House enjoyed a particularly lively evening when Eamonn recreated a storm on the Donegal coast. The room filled with the sound of waves crashing against rocks. There was a recording of the piercing cry of the curlew. And then came a virtual flock of sheep, complete with lambs and rams, all accompanied by poetry to match.
It’s the kind of experience that sparks memories, conversations, and a real sense of connection to the place many residents have called home all their lives.

Below you’ll find examples of Eamonn’s photography and poetry, giving you a taste of what these virtual tours offer.
